Hints for Installing Your New Yard Letters
Setting up and installing your signs is a simple task that doesn’t require any special tools or a lot of your time. A&I recommends installing all the ground stakes first to avoid possible damage to the letters, especially if the ground is dry or frozen.
- Start by pushing the stakes into the ground; you may need to tap gently with a hammer or mallet if your soil is hard.
- Put your stakes at a uniform distance from each other, consider the widths of the different letters and be mindful they are in a straight line.
- Once the stakes are secure, gently slide the corrugated flutes onto the stakes, and you are all set! You can add decorations around your lettering, spotlights, or other signage once your message is in place.
Cleaning and Storing your Letters
Cleaning your letters before storing them will ensure they will stay looking new for years to come. A&I recommends wiping them gently with a mild soap and warm water, then drying them with a microfiber cloth. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals or anything abrasive, as this could cause permanent damage to the print surface.
To keep your corrugated letters and signs safe during storage, lay them flat and try not to stack anything on top that might bend or smash them. The stakes can be removed at the time of storage but not necessary. If you do remove them, be mindful when you reinstall not to push down on the letter when putting back in the ground. This might cause the letter to become bent or tear the corrugated flutes.
Corrugated plastic is highly resilient, but excessive pressure over time may cause damage. Outdoor garages and sheds are suitable for storing, but a dry, dark area at room temperature would be ideal.
